I’m heading to Chickasaw trace for a muddy good time. I hope to make it through the entire trail. Which is about 8 miles. Last time I attempted this I lost the skin on both of my palms and it took over $100 to repair the bike. In my defense it was on a cheap ass bike.

Chickasaw trace is home of the Columbia Cyclocross Series.

Follow up:
I went, I road and I broke my bike :) . The derailleur warped which took out the chain and left me stranded with along walk. However I was able to make it over 5 miles through some of the most fun I’ve had in a while.

I am looking at getting a new bike dedicated to just off road and this time it will be a hardtail, I am so sick of the suspension bike that I have now. I contacted a guy with an old school Murray for sale. Not the best bike in the world so of course I’ll need to make some “minor” upgrades. I’ll post pictures of the process as I go.

Cyclo-cross (sometimes cyclocross, CX, CCX, cyclo-X or ‘cross’) is a form of bicycle racing. Races take place typically in the autumn and winter (the international or “World Cup” season is September-January), and consists of many laps of a short (2.5–3.5 km or 1.5–2 mile) course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike whilst navigating the obstruction and remount in one motion.[1][2] Races for senior categories are generally between 30 minutes and an hour long, with the distance varying depending on the ground conditions.
